This wonderful bayside village offers everything for a pleasant stay including first-class hotels; restaurants, night spots, an 18-hole golf course and two marinas, including the largest natural marina in all of Latin America. The visitor to San Carlos arrives on a Sonora scenic highway that varies from 4 to 8 lanes, and he or she is greeted by the majestic Tetakawi hill, the most reknown landmark in the area. San Carlos Sonora, but an hour from the capital of the state, Hermosillo Sonora, is home to a several thousand American retirees. It is a 20-minute drive to the heart of Guaymas, a coastal city of 150,000 that is the birthplace of three Mexican presidents.
