Art
League. (Liga de Arte) Since its origins in October of 1980,
League members have come together once a week, each season, to enjoy
art. Beginners, semi-professions and professional artists alike
learn from guest artists as well as from one another. Members share
their experience, knowledge, and abilities to nurture latent and
emerging talent in a variety of media. Classes and meetings are
held at the Tecalai club House on mondays at 9 AM - 12 noon (in
season).
Our goal is to improve skills, learn from one another
and have FUN! Classes are in Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic, Pastel and
Pencil. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of San Carlos Mexico, the Rotary
receives 10% of monies derived from sales of paintings at our art
shows. The League also grants scholarships to local artists to enable
their participation, providing another opportunity for cross cultural
learning and art appreciation. Members' art work is displayed
in a number of local art shows and gallery exhibits.
We
are non-profit. Any monies not used for supplies and expenses are
donated to charitable organizations pertaining to education and
the arts in Mexico. Membership is open to all aspiring artist, yearly
Membership fee is $20.00 U.S. We currently have four aspiring local
Mexican women we sponsor. La Liga de Arte pays their yearly membership
